We are aiming to stage the saga theatre production, "The Builders, the Breakers, the Universe-Makers", a multi-play theatrical story, over the period of three years. The format of the play is six one-act plays and one full-length play, gathered into three stylistic groups: two groups of three one-acts and the final production all run for two hours each. We propose a long-term creative intensive to produce them for stage, record them as a science-fiction live production series, and invest in an ongoing and adaptive creative process. 

 

Our concept is to push for a long-term commitment to projects on the parts of both the audience and the creative team: audience members can watch each part independently, but a fuller, more complete story is to be experienced with the full production. Actors can be cast in a single part, but recurring roles in the following parts allow them to continue in their creative niche with new material and situations.

 

In addition, in the vein of the science-fiction / future fantasy genre of the production, we will present it across media - recording the previous productions and having them available to view for ticketholders of the later parts, to be enjoyed from the comfort of their own homes. At the end of the project, the outcome will not only be the final presentation of the live performance, but a recorded 6-hour digital production that can be distributed and watched again and again as an example of live Victorian innovative theatre.
