We wanted to hit the ground running, and we did. We brought our team together for just that: a writing intensive to produce new, exciting, locally-written scripts.

We are incredibly lucky and grateful to the group of hardworking creatives that has brought Someone New to where it is today, and are privileged to be able to offer them new opportunities to expand their skills.
We are proudly supported by Creative Victoria and Regional Arts Victoria.
WRITERS NEW, our first-ever scriptwriting intensive, was a huge success, and we look forward to continuing the tradition and opening up the floor to prospective playwrights eager to work with Someone New to create new works. In the end, over two months, we created seven scripts - some completely original, some adaptions, and a couple of works in progress - to fuel our upcoming projects.

This doesn't mean that we don't want your scripts, we still do! We're aiming to bring more and more opportunities, so that we can offer this support to as many creators as we can.
